Season 13

Hear more from American Idol’s Rachel Rolleri

Rachel Rolleri was the first singer we met once American Idol shifted from Austin to San Francisco in the middle of audition episode number two.

She’s the young lady who said she’d have to play it cool in the audition room, lest she wind up wiping drool off her chin from meeting Keith Urban.

Turns out meeting Keith Urban was just one of the highlights of the 17-year-old high school senior’s audition.

Playing guitar, Rachel delivered a heartfelt version of Sugarland’s “Stay” and got rave reviews from all three judges.

Jennifer complimented “the tear in the back of her voice.”

Keith? He complimented her voice, too, and said she sounded “very mature for 17.”

Perhaps that’s because she’s been singing for so long. According to her website, Rachel is a self-taught musician who gave her first solo public performance in 2008 at age 12.

She also won a 2012 Valley Teen Idol competition, according to that site.

In her Road to Hollywood video, she says she started playing guitar after “rediscovering” The Beatles when she was in eighth grade and that she strives to match their uniqueness in her own music.

Her are links to Rachel’s Facebook page and Twitter account (@RachelRolleri).

I’ve embedded a couple of videos of her performing below. You can check out more on her YouTube channel.
