Season 12, Victoria Acosta

Victoria Acosta is the dark-haired beauty of a mariachi singer we met during American Idol’s San Antonio auditions.

Now, she might sing mariachi along San Antonio’s river walk to introduce tourists, and she might have been singing mariachi since she was 6 when her parents put her in an all-girl group.

But based on the videos below, she has a wide range of musical experience.

She also released an eight-track album, “This Could Be Love,” featuring the title track, to iTunes in March 2011.

On Idol, Victoria auditioned with “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” and got solid reviews from the judges.

They were even more impressed when she followed it with a mariachi number. And she got a unanimous yes for a golden ticket to Hollywood.

I’ll be posting full bio blogs on featured Idol contestants at a later date. Meanwhile, you’ll find three videos of Victoria performing below.
