With the Comeback Stage kaput, at least for Season 17, The Voice tried a new way of turning the Top 12 into a Top 13 Tuesday night.

The top vote-getter from each team who had not already advanced to the Top 12 competed for the wild card via an instant save.

Only instead of Twitter, the voting took place via The Voice app and The Voice website.

The winner wound up being Hello Sunday, the Team Kelly duo of 14-year olds.

In the process, Hello Sunday became just the second duet ever and the first since The Swon Brothers to make it to the live finals on The Voice.

Here’s how Voice Views graded Tuesday’s save performances.

Save Songs

Gracee Shriver, Team Blake, “Landslide” — First off, very nice song choice. This is a tough spot for a performer so young. Gracee let the vocal get away from her in a couple of spots, but pulled the performance together nicely toward the end and delivered an impressive glory note. Grade: B–

Jake HaldenVang, Team Gwen, “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” — Nice intro from Jake, but that chorus was a bit shaky the first time around. This young rocker keeps trying to flip pop songs. Wonder what would happen if he just performed some classic rock. Voice fans would likely jump on board. This song isn’t a good match for his voice. Grade: C

Hello Sunday, Team Kelly, “All By Myself” — Hello Sunday has improved markedly since the blinds, but they still need more experience to go up against the likes of Katie Kadan. One line will sound brilliant; the next will sound like they’re 14, which they are. That said, they came together for a very nice ending there, and that was much, much better than their Monday night performance. Grade: B

Alex Guthrie, Team Legend, “Stay” — Really nice song choice and Alex delivers a nice heartfelt vocal from the first note. This is coming off as the most polished of the save vocals. The ending was a bit subtle for the situation, but he should have advanced if the results had been based on save song performances solely. Grade: B+
