She’s a spokesperson for the city’s “Be Like a Pineapple” campaign.
And she wrote a song for the campaign called “Welcome to Waco.” You can check out the accompanying music video below.
As for that campaign slogan: The idea is to encourage Waco residents to be kind and helpful to visits by standing tall, being sweet, wearing your crown and loving Waco, Holly explains.
Holly finished sixth on the country-dominated fourth season of The Voice. That’s the same season Danielle Bradbery took The Voice crown and The Swon Brothers finished third.
“Welcome to Waco” is hardly her only release this year. She’s dropped nearly a dozen cover singles, including Carrie Underwood’s “Cry Pretty.”
Since auditioning for The Voice at age 20, she’s also released an album of originals called “Steel” (2016).
One of her next big gigs is as a performer at the 2018 Texas Country Music Awards on Oct. 15 at the Will Rogers Auditorium in Fort Worth.
Holly also happens to be nominated as Female Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year.
Here’s that new music video.
