Idol dumps the duets for this week’s Top 7 show

Well, Colton Dixon and Phillip Phillips won’t have to worry about ill-suited duets this week.

And Hollie Cavanagh won’t have to worry about singing with Joshua Ledet and told, yet again, she doesn’t measure up to his big voice.

Nigel Lythgoe has tweeted that duos and group numbers won’t be part of this week’s Top 7 show.

Instead, each of the remaining seven will sing two songs.

You know what that means, Idol fans — a lot less filler as the show squeezes 14 songs, more than ever before this season, into a two-hour time slot.

No word on what the theme will be this week, at least not yet.

Thursday’s results show performers will be Kris Allen and LMFAO, which will perform “Sorry for Party Rocking.”

Kris, of course, will sing his fine new single, “Vision of Love.” If you haven’t seen the video yet, head here.
