Billboard updates its music charts Thursday night.
Here’s the latest on where the former Idols stand:
* Kelly Clarkson: Two weeks after owning the top spot, Kelly’s “All I Ever Wanted” CD has skidded to number 14 in its fourth week on Billboard’s Hot 200 albums. Keith Urban and Prince own the top and second spots, respectively.
The single, “My Life Would Suck Without You,” slips from number seven to number 12 on the Hot 100 Singles, after 12 weeks on the chart. It’s also number 15 on the Hot Digital Singles chart.
* David Cook: The magic of an appearance on Idol worked for Carrie Underwood, and it’s working for David Cook, too.
His self-titled debut album slipped 24 spots last week, from 54 to 78 on the Hot 200. This week, it bolted back up to number 20. The single “Light On” is number eight on the Hot Adult Top 40 chart. And his new single, “Come Back to Me” debuts at number 49 on the Pop 100.
* Carrie Underwood: Speaking of Carrie, her second album, “Carnival Ride” is hanging around at number 34 on the Hot 200. It’ll be interesting to see where it comes in next week on the heels of her Entertainer of the Year victory at the Academy of Country Music awards show. “Carnival Ride” has been in the Hot 200 for 76 weeks.
Her “I Told You So” duet with Randy Travis checks in at number 33 on the Hot 100 singles, down from number 25 last week. Other than Kelly’s “MLWSWY,” it’s the only Idol song among the top 50 singles on that chart.
The song is number nine on the country singles chart; the album is number five, both unchanged from a week ago.
* Jennifer Hudson: Her self-titled and Grammy winning debut album has been in the top 200 for 27 weeks, peaking at number two. This week, it’s number 89, down from 82 last week.
But she still has two songs in the top 50 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, “If This Isn’t Love,” which climbed from 12 to its peak position of 11 this week; and “Spotlight,” which is number 30 and has been on the chart for 47 weeks.
* Mandisa: Her second Christian album, “Freedom,” debuted at number 83 on the Hot 200 last week. This week, it disappeared from the top 100 albums. Her single, “My Deliverer,” has been on the Hot Christian Songs chart for eight weeks, and holds steady at its peak position of 13 this week.
