A web designer by day, he had just released a debut solo album called “Feelz.”
And the young man from Shelby, N.C., was also fronting the band “Minutes and Years,” which released an EP of its own in 2016.
Jaron was bumped from Season 14 in a knockout round match that aired last week. But it sounds like he has no plans of slowing down.
Jaron was 29 when he auditioned and landed a spot on Team Blake Shelton. In the battle round, he tackled a country song (“Head Over Boots”) well out of his comfort zone — yet won his match.
He sang “Grenade” in the knockout round, but was pitted against Pryor Baird, Team Blake’s only four-chair turn recipient. Blake declared Pryor the winner.
Here’s what Jaron told Voice Views about his time on the show and his music moving forward.
Voice Views: I know the knockouts were filmed in early February. What have you been doing musically since then?
Jaron: I’ve been continuing to build my brand on social media as well as my fan base! I’ve performed a few national Anthems for The Knights baseball team (a minor league team based in Charlotte) and the NBA Charlotte Hornets! Also I’m lining up a few big shows with my solo music as well as in talks to open for a few big artists soon this year. Outside of that I’ll be recording new music soon and plan to release some of these songs later this year.
Voice Views: Where do you see your time on the show leading you musically? What do you have planned next? Do you think you’ll be releasing new music in the future and, if so, what can fans expect?
Jaron: I plan to release a few new singles later this year with music videos. I’m also working on being featured with other bigger artists and opening for a few as well.
Voice Views: What was your favorite performance from The Voice and why?
Jaron: I would say the battle round because it took me out of my element and I put my spin on the song and won. Also my girlfriend Kendall was there and I could hear her screaming through the crowd and that felt amazing.
Voice Views: Do you think you grew as an artist as a result of The Voice experience? If so, in what way?
Jaron: Yes 100%!! It helped me with my vocals, my stage presence and truly knowing my place in music. My voice and confidence have grown so much after being coached by Blake and working with the Voice.
