Jej Vinson sang for President Obama. Beth Griffith-Manley worked as a body double for Whitney Houston on “Sparkle.”

They’ve both advancing on The Voice following a superb battle round performance that aired Monday night.

The background: Jej, 22, of Los Angeles, Calif., performed “Passionfruit” by Drake and turned four chairs. Beth, 46, of Detroit, Mich., auditioned with “Until You Come Back to Me” by Aretha Franklin and turned two.
The song: “Jealous” by Labrinth
The feedback: Adam Levine said their unison section of the song was perhaps the best he’d ever heard on the show. John Legend called them both incredible.
The outcome: Kelly selected Jej as the winner, saying she loves his vocal range. But John immediately stole Beth.
My take: Both deserved to survive after an absolutely phenomenal performance. I understand Kelly’s decision. Jej is 22, a four-chair turn and does have incredible range. Plus more than 4 million views on his blind audition performance. But from the minute Beth opened her voice, she drew me in with her passion and her rich vocals. Gotta say, I would have been tempted to pick her as the winner.
