Jena Irene Asciutto's Innocence EP coverAmerican Idol might be ending this week, but the music from past contestants is sure to keep arriving.

That includes Jena Irene Asciutto, runner-up to Cable Johnson back in Season 13.

Pre-orders for Jena’s debut EP are underway now on iTunes; the 5-track “Innocence” is due out April 22.

Later this year, Jena will unveil “Cold Fame,” her debut album.

There’s also plans for a video for the EP’s title track. That will be coming soon, too, Jena Irene promises on her Facebook page.

“Innocence” was one of the first songs the 19-year-old wrote upon returning from American Idol and preparing her new music. It’s a song about losing her virginity, according to her website.

“I remember asking my producer, ‘Is this OK?,’ “ she says in her bio posted there. “And he said, ‘It’s your show now. You don’t have to think about what anybody else is going to think.’ And that sunk in, so I just went for it.”

The EP also includes “Unbreakable,” the original she sang on Idol. In fact, it comes as an instant download for anyone who pre-orders the EP.

And Jena Irene says she appreciates fans’ patience as they’ve waited for new music. After all, it’s been two years since she was in the Idol finale.

“I will always put quality over quantity in anything I decide to put out to the world, so thank you for sticking around,” she writes on her Facebook page.

Oh, and if you missed the inspiring video for “Unbreakable,” released in October, here it is.
