The two most successful singers to graduate from American Idol and two Season 10 judges will be part of an all-star lineup for an iHeart Radio Music Festival announced this morning.
The festival will take place Sept. 23 and Sept. 24 in Las Vegas. It will be streamed live on iHeartRadio.com, via an iHeartRadio app that will be released before the show and via all Clear Channel radio stations.
Idol participants include Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. Judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will also take a turn on stage.
Other artists already signed on include Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Usher, Sting, Alicia Keys, Coldplay, The Black Eyed Peas, David Guetta, John Mayer, Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts.
Ryan Seacrest will host the event. He announced the festival on his radio show today.
And Jennifer appeared on the “Today” show to share news of the event. She said she wasn’t ready to say whether she’ll be back for another season as an American Idol judge.
Tickets for the music festival go on sale to the general public at 1 p.m. July 23. Information on how to obtain pre-sale tickets is available at the IHeartRadio Facebook page.
Here’s a link to a Q&A about the event. Apparently, more performers will be announced over the course of the summer.
