Wondering who scored the most popular performances from the last two episodes of American Idol?

The answer might surprise you.

Because in neither episode was it the singer given the pimp spot by American Idol producers.

In fact, the same two singers scored the two most popular performances in each of the past two shows. They just flip-flopped positions from Sunday to Monday.

Easily the most popular performance from the two nights in terms of YouTube views was John Foster’s emotional performance of “Tell That Angel I Love Her,” an original written for classmates killed in a tragic car crash.

As of early Sunday morning, it had been viewed more than 600,000 times on the site. No other Idol performance video from the last two shows has more than 350,000 views.

John performed his original on the Top 20 show. Jamal Roberts has the second most popular performance video from that show with his performance of Jason Nelson’s “Forever.”

And from Monday’s show, those two singers were also the most popular, with Jamal’s version of “Try a Little Tenderness” viewed more than 300,000 times and John’s cover of Brooks and Dunn’s “Neon Moon” viewed more than 280,000.

Here’s a look at where all performance videos from the two shows rank.
