He’s hoping to repeat the feat with his latest single, “One of The Good Ones.”
It’s not a song he wrote, but it’s one that captured his attention the first time he heard it, Jordan said in a recent interview with Country Fanfest.
“The energy of the song grabbed me, I related to almost every lyric, and by the second chorus I was singing along,” he told the site.
“I think I listened to it three or four times in a row. I’ve never had a song I didn’t write stop me in my tracks like that so I knew I’d found something special.”
It doesn’t hurt that there’s a line about a Chipper Jones home run in the chorus, Jordan admits. Chipper Jones is his all-time favorite baseball player. Not surprising since the Nashville-based singer is from Loganville, Ga.
Jordan appeared on Season 2 of The Voice — as a member of Team Blake, of course.
He released his “Southern Boy” EP in 2016. The title track, featuring a vocal assist from country superstar Jason Aldean, cracked the Top 40 on Billboard’s country airplay chart.
“One of the Good Ones” is the first single he’s released since. But judging from the interview, we’ll be hearing more from Jordan in 2018.
Here’s the new song. Sounds like a potential country hit to me.
