Season 9 winner of The Voice and cover singer supreme Jordan Smith will release a Christmas album.
Jordan announced earlier this week that the album will be called ‘Tis the Season and will be available Oct. 28.
From a marketing standpoint, this makes perfect sense.
Jordan’s debut album, “Something Beautiful,” made up mostly of covers, was released in mid-March and set records for a former Voice artist in terms of first-week sales (54,000) and Billboard 200 debut (number two).
According to a press release announcing the album, it will include 12 songs, including Jordan’s take on Christmas classics like “Silent Night,” “What Child is This” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir joins Jordan for a performance of “O Holy Night.” And the release says his favorite track is a modern take on “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.”
Jordan is also going out on a holiday tour with Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith. More than 20 dates are planned and you can get the complete schedule on Jordan’s website.
The final stop is the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore on Sunday, Dec. 18. Tickets range from $35 to $150.
