Jordan Smith with girlfriend and now fiancee Kristen Denny.

And 2016 isn’t starting off too badly either.

Between a pair of high-profile national anthem appearances, the Season 9 winner of The Voice found time to pop the question to Kristen Denny, his girlfriend of three years.

Jordan performed the anthem at the NHL Winter Classic at Boston’s Gillette Stadium on New Year’s Day.

The same day, he sent out this tweet: “RINGING in the new year with my future wife! She said YES! #Mr&MrsSmith.”

The tweet was accompanied by a photo of Jordan and Kristen, with her showing off her new engagement ring.

Her reaction came Saturday via Instagram: “Wow! Yesterday was absolute perfection! Thanks for all the well wishes and sweet messages! I am so incredibly blessed and I can’t wait to marry my best friend!”

On Twitter, she added: “2016… You’re definitely my favorite!”

By then, her fiance was back at it, singing the anthem before at Rupp Arena, before a college basketball game between Ole Miss and the University of Kentucky.

A Kentucky native, Jordan called that performance particularly special because he’s been a fan of the university’s basketball team since he was young.

Jordan has promised to deliver new music as soon as possible following his Season 9 win.

In the meantime, a compilation CD of his performances from The Voice is now available at Walmart.

The digital version of the album was still number 89 on iTunes Sunday, weeks after Jordan’s win.
