After The Voice

Jordan Smith releases lead single from upcoming album

0
this week came word that Voice winner Jordan Smith would release his debut album this spring.

In fact, his March 18 album release marks the quickest turn-around for an album from a Voice winner yet.

And now we have a lead single from the album, “Stand in the Light,” which you can listen to at right.

Jordan told People.com the song “is my own story set to music. “It was a joy to work alongside (producer) Stephan Moccio to bring such a beautiful song with such an important, powerful message to life.”

He added that he hopes fans find it inspirational.

So far, not as many fans are finding it as did when Jordan was competing on The Voice.

Back then, he routinely hit the Top 10 on iTunes’ singles chart. Three times, he was sitting at the top of that chart when voted ended on noon the day after a performance show.

The new song was sitting at 91 on iTunes’ singles chart as of 8 p.m. Friday.

As for the album, it’s available for pre-order from iTunes or Jordan’s website. It will include 12 songs, a mix of originals and covers, such as “Amazing Grace,” “So It Goes” and “You Are So Beautiful.”
