Josh Halverson from Season 11 of The Voice

Josh Halverson, from Season 11 of The Voice, is planning a new album.

Josh Halverson has launched a Pledge Music campaign to fund his post-Voice album.

The singer-songwriter from Texas is working on an album called “Year of the Thunderbird.”

And with eight days left in the Pledge Music campaign, he’s 61 percent of the way toward his fund-raising goals.

About that title, you’ll recall that Josh and his wife had a son about a year ago; his name is Thunderbird.

Josh says the experience of becoming a father “has really taught me who I am as an individual, first and foremost, and as a songwriter.”

He adds that he chose the name “because of the reflection I want to portray to my son … I hope when people listen to it (the album), they can learn to trust again and learn to love each other again.”

You can check out the rewards that come with different pledges here. For instance, Josh is offering signed vinyl copies of the new album for $40. You can get a digital download for as little as $10.

And it sounds as though anyone who pledges will get a download of a new single called “Mama.” Josh has posted a snippet on his Facebook page.

Josh was 31 when he turned three chairs with his blind audition cover of Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young.” He wound up advancing all the way to the Top 20 on Season 11.
