Season 8 The Voice finalist Joshua Davis has two new singles out and will be performing in Baltimore next month.

Joshua Davis has released his first music since finishing third on Season 8 of The Voice.

It comes via a pair of singles — “Always Going to Be There” and “Let Me In” — that hit iTunes earlier this month.

Joshua is also making the songs available in an unusual format, as a seven-inch vinyl single available through Earthwork Music.

“I wanted to release these songs on vinyl because it’s what we listen to at home,” Joshua said in a release about the release. “Records force us to be more thoughtful about our music. You can’t just hit shuffle and go on cleaning the house, you’ve got to give it its own space.”

As for the songs …

“These are love songs,” he said. “They’re all heart. I wanted the production to be stripped down and allow that to shine through.”

There’s more good news for fans of Joshua’s music. On Facebook, he says he’s working on a full-length album, meaning more new music will be coming our way.

And he’s touring, with nearly two dozen upcoming shows listed on his website, including one in nearby Baltimore, Md.

That’s set for Thursday, May 5, at The 8 x 10. Head here for more information. Advance tickets are $15.

With three solo albums already to his credit, Joshua was 37 when he auditioned for The Voice and landed a spot on Team Blake with a cover of Bob Dylan’s “I Shall be Released.”

He wound up becoming the first singer ever to perform an original on the show as a contestant. It happened in the Season 8 finals when he sang “Workingman’s Hymn.” The song wound up cracking the Top 10 on the iTunes singles chart.
