Joshua Ledet returned to Westlake, La., Saturday to a hero’s welcome, and just two steps shy of becoming the Season 11 American Idol.
He was treated to a parade through his hometown, followed by a concert at Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles.
The Republic newspaper reports that the 7,900 free tickets to the event were passed out within an hour.
And so many people went away empty-handed, that the performance was also being shown at the Lake Charles Civic Center via a live feed.
Joshua was also expected to attend Contraband Days, a pirate festival in Lake Charles celebrating the legacy of the pirate Jean Lafitte, the newspaper reported.
