Juliet Simms’ song most downloaded on iTunes

The iTunes music charts are confirming what those of us who sat through two hours of The Voice last night already knew.

1.  Juliet Simms, the 25-year-old female rocker, the former lead singer for Automatic Loveletter, stole the show with her version of Roxanne.

2. All in all, the night was not very special.

Right now, Juliet’s rendition of Roxanne is the 21st most downloaded single today on iTunes.

That’s even better than Lindsey Pavao’s widely acclaimed performance from week one of The Voice semifinals.  It was number 23 at this time a week ago.

But as of 1:30 p.m. last Tuesday, four performances from The Voice had cracked the top 80 on the iTunes chart.

This week?

Juliet’s performance is the only one.

Jamar Roger is at 85 with his show-closing “Are You Gonna Go My Way,” which probably got better reviews last night than it deserved.

And nursing-student-turned-singer Mathai is right behind him at number 86 with “Ordinary People.”

Others to crack the top 200 …

* James Massone is number 93 with “Don’t Know Why.”

* Tony Lucca is number 98 with “In Your Eyes”

* Pip is at number 167 with “When You Were Young.”

And that’s it.

Twelve performances, and only six viewers like well enough to put in iTunes top 200.

Last week at this point, all six of Blake Shelton’s team members were charting.

Those not charting this week include Katrina Parker, Kim Yarbrough and Karla Davis from Team Adam; and Cheesa, Tony Vincent and Erin Martin from Team Cee Lo.

Check back tonight.  I’ll be blogging live throughout the show.

And I think it’s a good bet that many of the six singers I just named will be singing for their life on The Voice.
