Just call it American Idol Divas

Another performer has been added to the VH1 Divas show, scheduled for broadcast next Thursday at 9 p.m.

And, naturally, it’s another former American Idol contestant — Jennifer Hudson.

Wow, Idol sure cranks out the divas.

Jennifer will join fellow former Idols Kelly Clarkson and Jordin Sparks as a performer on the show, which will also feature Miley Cyrus, Adele and Leona Lewis. Yeap, we’re talking some pretty young divas. One more diva performer has yet to be announced.

And, of course, the show will be hosted by Paula Abdul, who I guess officially lost her Idol link on Wednesday with the hiring of Ellen DeGeneres as the fourth Idol judge.

Jennifer can certainly stake claim to diva status. Since her Idol days, she’s won a Grammy for best R&B album for her debut album and an Oscar for best supporting actress for her role in “Dreamgirls.”

She was also on Oprah Winfrey Thursday afternoon, performing “Best of My Love” and “Spotlight” on Oprah’s Season 24 kickoff party. Here’s a link to the video.
