Kelly Clarkson pitted a pair of talented female singers against one another in her final battle round match Tuesday night.

Alena D’Amico, 26, of Detroit, Mich., auditioned with Shawn Mendes’ “In My Blood” and turned two chairs.

Karen Galera, 19, of Dallas, Texas, auditioned with “Mi Corazoncito” by Aventura, singing the entire song in Spanish and also turned two chairs.

Follow the links above to learn more about the singers.

The song: “Imagine” by Ariana Grande
The feedback: The performance was montaged, so we heard none of the feedback.
The outcome: Kelly advanced Karen, saying she felt she was better prepared to handle the pressure of the live competition.
My take: Who knows? The Voice showed us only a tiny snippet of the battle. And after 16 seasons, this show still hasn’t figured out that it might be a nice to put these full performances online as a service to the artists and the fans eager to hear them, especially since the show nixed iTunes versions for the early rounds. Not to mention a nice way to generate some web/app traffic.
