Former Voice contestant Kat Robichaud has released the music video for “A Song for David Bowie.”

Kat Robichaud recently released a video tribute to one of her idols.

And “A Song for David Bowie” — released March 15 — has already racked up more than 14,000 views on YouTube.

“It was hugely cathartic for me to write this song and sing it on a beach with a bunch of other Bowie fans,” Kat writes on Facebook. “One of my biggest regrets in life was not seeing David Bowie in concert. This is the closest I’ve been to him.”

The song was featured on Kat’s 2017 “Misfit Caberet” album. It’s a collection of tunes taken from Misfit Cabaret, a “whimsical” variety show she has launched in San Francisco.

The video, she says, was made possible by members of her Patreon campaign, now 230 members strong.

Andy Strong directed the video. Gene Jeanie plays David Bowie.

And, in a Facebook video, Kat expresses her gratitude over the reception the video has received.

“It’s the coolest thing ever when you have an idol you really love and you want to show your appreciation through a tribute. Then you put it out, and a lot of other people that love the artist as much as you did say they love the work you did.”

Kat’s doing her best to keep Bowie’s legacy alive.

She performs Bowie music with the First Church of the Sacred Silversexual. The band appears to be touring the northwestern U.S. this summer.

And on Saturday, Kat was performing Bowie music along with other musicians in Omaha, Neb., backed by the Omaha Symphony Orchestra.

She calls it “one of the best gigs ever.”

Kat finished Top 10 on Season 5 of The Voice. Here’s her tribute.
