Their show, which airs on Freeform, has been renewed for a fourth season.
Katie, the eighth place finisher on American Idol Season 9, plays a character named Jane Sloan, a writer for Scarlet magazine in New York.
The series follows her and friends / co-workers Aisha Dee and Meghann Fahy as they navigate love, friendships, their careers and their “determination to succeed in the New York fashion media business.”
Season 3 of The Bold Type premiered April 9 and runs through June 11.
The Bold Type isn’t Katie’s first successful acting gig since Idol. The now 26-year-old starred on MTV’s “Faking It” for the show’s three season run from 2014 to 2016.
