Former Voice standout Katrina Parker has announced that her new album, “Stars,” will be released on Sept. 6.

It’s available for pre-order now on iTunes, and Katrina has provided a sample of what’s to come by releasing four of the songs as singles in the lead-up to the full release.

The latest of those singles is “Don’t Give It Up.” You can check out the lyric video below.

On Instagram, Katrina calls the song “a love letter to all the dreamers and the doers…it’s never “too late” to follow that spark.”

From North Carolina, Katrina made it all the way to the Top 8 on Season 2 of The Voice.

She followed up her appearance on the show with an album called “In and Out of the Dark” in 2013.

This will be her first major release since and her third overall. She released a pre-Voice EP in 2005.

And she jokes about the sporadic nature of her original music on social media.

“Every 12 months, Phil the groundhog emerges from his burrow in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, after a long winter’s sleep. And every 4 years I emerge from my burrow in sunny California to release music after a long period of writing and dreaming and working things out.”

“Stars” features eight songs Katrina wrote and a cover of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.”

Here’s the lyric video for “Don’t Give It Up.” Katrina is planning an album release show for Sept. 7 at the Hotel Cafe in L.A.
