Idols on the Music Chart

Kelly back on top with ‘Stronger’

A week ago, Kelly Clarkson’s smash hit “Stronger” was bumped all the way from number one to number four on Billboard’s Hot 100.

This week, the song’s back in the top spot, leaping past Katy Perry and Adele.

That makes three weeks in the top spot for Kelly’s second single from the album also known as “Stronger.”

The song also reached a new peak on two other charts — radio play and pop songs — this week, reaching number three in both cases.

But it was bumped from number one to number two on Billboard’s dance/club play list, replaced by “We Run the Night” by Havana Brown.

Also noteworthy on the music charts this week:

* Mandisa’s Grammy-nominated “What If We Were Real” album jumped from 26 to 11 on the Christian album chart. It’s been on that chart for 47 weeks now.

* But Kellie Pickler’s “100 Proof” is in danger of dropping out of the Billboard 200 after just five weeks. The album dropped from 118 to 196 this week. In contrast, Lauren Alaina’s “Wildflower” spent 18 weeks on the same chart before falling off this week.

* And “Good Girl,” the new single from Carrie Underwood, was released early enough to debut on this week’s chart — at 24 on the Hot 100 and 30 on the country singles chart.

Here’s the complete rundown.
