Phillip Phillips and Carrie Underwood will each be up for two American Music Awards when the show airs Sunday, Nov. 24, on ABC.
Kelly and will.i.am announced the nominees this morning in New York.
And others with singing show ties are also up for honors.
Phillip is nominated as new artist of the year. Others nominated in that category include Florida Georgia Line, Ariana Grande, Imagine Dragons and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
Carrie is nominated as Favorite Female Country Artist along with Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift.
Those are the only two nominations for former American Idol contestants.
But Blake Shelton is nominated for favorite male country artist alongside Hunter Hayes and Luke Bryan.
And Adam Levine’s Maroon 5 is nominated as favorite adult contemporary artist along with Bruno Mars and Pink.
The nominees for artist of the year: Justin Timberlake, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Bruno Mars.
