Idols on the Music Chart, Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson back on top again

Fresh off a Super Bowl appearance, Kelly Clarkson can chalk up another achievement.

“Stronger,” her latest single, completed the climb to the top of the Hot 100 this week.

A week ago, “Stronger” was number two behind Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain.”  This week, they flip-flopped positions.

“Stronger” is also the top digital song in the land for the second straight week and made big advances on several other charts.

It’s now number seven on the dance chart, up from 15; number 15 among top radio songs, up from 33; and number 20 from pop songs, up from 14.

The last time an Idol song topped the Hot 100 was in early 2009 when Kelly’s “My Life Would Suck Without You” turned the trick.

Kelly’s “Stronger” album is also making a strong showing on the charts.  It moved up from 20 to 13 after 15 weeks on the chart.

Kelly’s first single off the album, “Mr. Know It All,” peaked at number 10 on the Hot 100.
