Reba McEntire announced the nominees. She’ll host the ACMs, which air Sunday, April 7 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
Kelly Clarkson is the name that probably jumps out among the three I mentioned above. She’s nominated in the Musical Event of the Year category for teaming up with Dan + Shay on a song called “Keeping Score.”
Meanwhile, Danielle, the Season 4 winner of The Voice, is nominated in the New Female Artist category. Hey, ACM, did you realize she released her debut album in 2013. That makes her new?
Carrie is up for Female Vocalist of the Year, an honor she won three straight years from 2006-2008. The winner every year since has been Miranda Lambert. But you have to think Kacey Musgraves might have the inside track this time around.
The top award of the night is Entertainer of the Year, an honor Jason Aldean has won three straight years. He’s nominated again. So is American Idol judge Luke Bryan and former Idol judge Keith Urban.
