Kelly is nominated in the Best Video with a Message category for “Dark Side” and reminding “us to be kind to one another since everybody struggles with something,” according to mtv.com.
Other nominees in the category include X Factor judge Demi Lovato for “Skyscraper,” Gym Class heroes for “The Fighter,” Lil Wayne for “How to Love,” Rise Against for “Ballad of Hollis Brown” and K’Naan and Nelly Furtado with “Is Anybody Out There?”
