Yep, it’s still August, but we’re going to talk Christmas for a moment.

We’re going to talk Christmas because Kelly Clarkson just announced plans to release a Christmas album.

“Wrapped in Red” is set for an Oct. 29 release, and Kelly revealed the album cover via Twitter today.

“I have been dying to make this album since I was a kid,” she wrote. “I can wait for y’all to hear it.”

It will mark the first holiday music CD for Kelly, though several other Idols have traveled down that path, including finalists David Archuleta and Scotty McCreery.

Kelly also just released the video for her most recent single, “Tie It Up,” best described as a country party song about tying the knot.

Kelly, of course, is engaged to Brandon Blackstock, stepson of Reba McEntire. Reports indicate they plan to tie the knot in October.
