Laine Hardy, American Idol’s Season 17 champ, has released his first two singles since.

Laine Hardy has dropped his first two songs since winning Season 17 of American Idol nearly a year ago.

“Gound I Grew Up On” and “Let There Be Country” landed Friday, and Laine also released the music video for the former. Check it out below.

The songs were written by others, but Laine says he decided to record them because they fit his story so well.

“I hope these songs give you an idea of where I grew up on the bayou, running through the fields with my cousins and fishing on Lake Maurepas,” the 19-year-old said in a press release.

“Louisiana is always going to be in my heart, and I want to just keep making Louisianans proud.”

The music video for “Ground I Grew Up On” was also shot around Laine’s home.

Brandon Kinney, Josh Thompson and Brett Beavers were co-writers on that song. Jason Afable, Steve Moakler and Tim Nichols wrote the up-tempo “Let There Be Country.”

With the nation in lock-down mode, Laine has also announced a virtual tour. The next date is Monday on Wrangler Live Network. Check out all the dates and times for the virtual tour here.
