When voting ended at noon, five of the 11 cover songs from the Top 11 night were in the Top 20 on iTunes overall singles charts.
And on the genre charts, three Voice contestants were sitting at number one.
The night’s biggest hit belongs to Lauren Duski of Team Blake Shelton with her cover of “Somewhere in My Broken Heart.” When voting ended, it was sitting at number three on the overall chart — comfortably in bonus points territory — and at number one on the county singles chart.
That number one is quite a feat. The country and pop charts are two of the most difficult to scale on iTunes.
If Voice voting follows iTunes rankings, Hunter Plake, Brennley Brown, Chris Blue and Jesse Larson should have little to worry about on results night as well.
All four cracked the Top 20 on iTunes. Hunter was at number 10, good enough to earn bonus points. Brennley was next closest to the Top 10 at number 13.
As for those other number one’s on genre charts?
Glad you asked. They belong to Chris Blue with his splendid cover of “When a Man Loves a Woman” and Stephanie Rice with her rousing performance of “Behind Blue Eyes.” They’re sitting atop the R&B and rock singles charts, respectively.
Below is where everyone ranked when voting ended.
