Lauren Duski had already picked music over dental school when she moved to Nashville.
She took the next big step toward a career in country music on Season 12 of The Voice, earning a spot on Team Blake Shelton, then advancing all the way to the finals and finishing second to Chris Blue.
Along the way, she cracked the Top 200 on the iTunes singles chart during every single phase of the competition, the only contestant to do so.
She scored two number one hits on that chart. No other contestant reached the top.
And her second number one hit came with “Deja Vu,” the original she co-wrote and performed on the performance finale.
