The song is called “Sink” and comes alive thanks to a haunting vocal from LiLi.
“‘Sink’ is about feeling trapped in your own head,” says the 16-year-old from Chino Hills, Calif.
“You feel like there’s no way out, but you know you don’t belong there. It encompasses the feeling of trying to constantly pick yourself up out of the hole you’ve dug.”
LiLi wrote “Sink” with John Velasquez, who also produced the track.
“Sink” will also be part of a three-song EP LiLi plans to release later this year.
“Float” and “Glow” are the other songs on the EP. It’s a project LiLi told Voice Views she started before the show.
Here’s the lyric video for “Sink.”
