After American Idol

Long awaited new music coming from former Idol finalist Kree Harrison

Kree Harrison?

You’d be forgiven if you didn’t. She hasn’t exactly kept the highest profile since finishing second on Season 13 of American Idol.

Perhaps that’s why the country songstress posted this to Facebook last week: “Listen up, this is not a drill…so excited to finally share new music!”

The new music is a single called “This Old Thing” that you can now hear on Spotify. I’ve embedded a snippet at right.

It will mark Kree’s first release since “All Cried Out,” her Idol finale single from back in May of 2013.

Incidentally, Idol isn’t even mentioned in the bio on Kree’s new website.

What is mentioned is her recording deal with independent music company, Plaid Flag Music, signed last September, and her plans for a debut album sometime this year.

In addition to the website, you can keep up with Kree on her Facebook page and through Twitter, where she’s simply @kreeharrison.

Head to the latter and you’ll read lots of praise for her unreleased album from folks who have already heard it.

No word yet on a release date.
