Lots of solid, familiar songs on Bucky’s upcoming album

2

Last night I posted the fun video for Bucky Covington’s new single “Drinking Side of Country,” featuring Shooter Jennings and Kellie Pickler. (2 million views and counting)

Today comes the news that iTunes has started taking pre-orders for Bucky’s second album, “Good Guys,” set for a Sept. 11 release.

You can check out 90-second clips of the songs now, and it looks like it has the makings for a great album.

My only regret is that it doesn’t include more fresh material.

Of the 12 tracks, five have already been released as singles. Those include “A Father’s Love,” “Gotta Be Somebody,” “I Want My Life Back,” “I Wanna Be That Feeling” and the aforementioned “Drinking Side.”

Two others — “Mexicoma” and “Hold a Woman” were on Bucky’s 2010 “I’m Alright” EP. Plus there’s a cover of Lionel Ritchie’s “Sail On.”

That doesn’t leave a whole lot of surprises.

The good news is that the previously released material is solid, making this album a collection of Bucky’s best material since his 2007 debut CD.

And a portion of the proceeds from the first week sales will benefit the International Association of Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation, according to this article at countrymusicrocks.com.

Nice gesture, Bucky.

I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the layout of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or two pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
