But he released a four-song EP on Friday as LAWS, his new alternative rock project.
It’s still Luke. In fact, LAWS stands for Lucas Anthony Wade Songs.
And the new is a relative term. The EP is newly released, but Luke says he’s been working on music as LAWS for two years now.
“It’s been a long time in the making and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with all of you,” he writes on Instagram.
“A big thanks to those who have followed me throughout this crazy journey, and for sticking with me as I dig into something new.”
The four-song collection features a couple of tracks already released as singles.
“Plastic Love,” the first single, is a song Luke wrote with Valerie Broussard and producer Andrew Heringer shortly after moving to L.A.
“We were in the writing room talking about dating in the city and before we knew it we had a song,” Luke writes.
Luke was a Top 8 finisher on Season 7 of The Voice.
Here’s a snippet of “Attention,” my favorite track from a fine EP.
