“Fight for You” was inspired by Luke’s involvement with Hyundai’s Hope on Wheels foundation, which supports children fighting childhood cancer.
More specifically, it was inspired by the children Luke met through the program.
“It started out about Luke’s story and the story of all these kids I was meeting,” the Season 7 standout from The Voice told an audience at a Thursday show in Fort Worth.
“But it turned into something that’s more about the way that we grow together and the way that we support each other and the way we get closer and the beautiful things that happen whenever times get hard.”

For Luke, the single continues a prolific 2017. He released a new album, “Only Ghosts,” in January, an EP of live tracks in June and a a cover of Hozier’s “Work Song” in August.
Luke finished in the Top 8 on Season 7 of The Voice.
