Mackenzie Sol, Top 20 on Season 22 of American Idol, has a new single out.

Mackenzie Sol, Top 20 on American Idol this year, has released a catchy new single.

It’s called “Anxiety,” dropped Friday and has racked up more than 11,000 streams on Spotify since then.

Pre-Idol, Mackenzie had dropped about a dozen singles but was best known for his TikTok.

That TikTok has more than 12 million followers and features music as well as popular kitchen pranks pulled on his mother and other family members.

But the 23-year-old from England, who now lives in Las Vegas, says his light-hearted persona on TikTok doesn’t tell the full story.

“I have dealt with anxiety my whole life,” he says in a social media post about his new single.

“And if from the screens of your TVs I just look like this kid who’s jolly and happy all the time, that’s not really the truth.

“I go through a lot, mentally in my head … I think the worst of the worst no matter what it is.”

The purpose of the new song, he said, is to turn a negative into a positive and helps others facing anxiety in the process.

You can check out the official audio video for the song below.

Meanwhile, Mackenzie’s also cooking up something with fellow Idol contestants Kayko, Jordan Anthony and Blake Proehl called “Boys Night: The Tour.” Check out the Instagram below.
