Saying she wanted to surprise everyone in the new year, Mandisa has released her first single since 2017.
It’s a superb cover of the hit Christian song “Way Maker.”
Mandisa said the song is special to her, something she was reminded of when the worship team at her church was singing it one day.
“I remember thinking, ‘Okay, Lord, this song is proclaiming that you’re a way maker, a miracle worker,'” she said in an Instagram video to fans.
“And I would start singing it and declaring it over certian situations in my life and the lives of some loved ones who needed God to be a miracle worker and a way maker, and a God who would keep his promises.
“And for me, as someone who battles with depression, to be a light in the darkness.”
Mandisa, 43, who won a Grammy back in 2014 for her album “Overcome” is also heading out on tour.
Beginning next month, she’ll head out with Newsboys United on the Greatness of Our God Tour.
It runs through April and includes a Feb. 21 stop at Calvary Church in Lancaster.
