Joshua Ledet admits he’s never been bashful when it comes to performing.
After all, he started at age 3 in his father’s church.
“I used to grab the mike and go for it,” says Joshua, 19, of Westlake, La. “It just felt so great to see all those people smiling and screaming. I knew it was something I wanted to do the rest of my life.”
Joshua gets his chance to make his mark on Idol after receiving a golden ticket at the Galveston auditions.
He’s a graduate of Westlake High School and a member of the Lamar University Class of 2015.
When he’s not singing, he’s apparently working for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Joshua told Idol his favorite former contestant was Fantasia because of her drive to overcome the struggles in her life.
In fact, he says he watched Idol growing up.
That’s what inspired him to audition.
“I’ve wondered, ‘Why can’t that be me on stage, doing the same thing they’re doing?'”
Here’s video of Joshua in action, in a pair of non-Idol performances.
UPDATE:
OK, Joshua has apparently changed all his YouTube videos to private, a sign that he might have done well in Hollywood.
I’ll post new ones as soon as they become available.
“Ready for Love”
“I Look to You”
