Anna Hurd of American Idol Season 24
Idol returns to ABC on Monday, Jan. 26 with the judging trio of Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood and Lionel Richie.
Here’s more about Anna:
* She’s a talented 23-year-old singer from Grenada, Mississippi who has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from University of Southern Mississippi and is doing masters work at The University of Mississippi.
* And she certainly has lots of hometown support. Idol hasn’t even aired a premiere episode yet, and Grenada already held an Anna Hurd Day on Oct. 19 in honor of her upcoming participation on the show.
* Anna’s day-after reaction: “Last night was more than an event — it was a reminder of how blessed I truly am. I’ll carry the love and support you all showed me for a long time to come.”
* On top of that, she performed at Grenada’s MLK Prayer breakfast on Monday, then served as grand marshal of the Grenada MLK Parade that evening.
* Anna hasn’t released music yet, but you’ll find plenty of samples of her vocal prowess on her TikTok, where she has 11,000 followers and more than 175,000 likes.
* Her most popular video is a female version of the Anthony Hamilton song “Her Heart.” It’s been viewed more than 225,000 times. Check it out below.
* And while Idol has yet to start airing auditions, Anna has already been featured in at least one Idol Season 24 promo.
