Anya True of The Voice Season 25

Her audition:
Anya True, 17, of Encinitas, Calif., performed “Until I Found You” by Stephen Sanchez. Anya immediately showed off a unique singer-songwriter tone. And quite impressive range. An early high note enticed chair turns from Chance and Dan + Shay. Shay called it a flawless performance and said he loves the vulnerability in her tone. Dan loved the character in her tone. Shay said she could win The Voice. Chance called her voice amazing. Anya picked Team Dan + Shay.

Here’s more about Anya.

* In spite of her young age, Anya’s already released music — a song called “Sneakers” in 2020 and a single called “Anymore” in 2021.

* Both of those songs were produced in conjunction with the OC Hit Factor and you can check out the accompanying music videos on Anya’s YouTube channel.

* You’ll find most of Anya’s covers on her Instagram. They cover a wide range though it’s clear singer-songwriter Lizzy McAlpine is a major influence.

* Another is Canadian singer-songwriter Leith Ross. Writes Anya: “I love leith so much. Their music has literally changed the way i view songwriting. immensely. in the best way possible.”

* And while Anya hasn’t released music in the last couple years, you can check out a new original — called “Biting Tongue” — on that Instagram page.

* Among her most memorable performances to date was a 2022 solo acoustic show at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville where she played her original music. She also performed at the House of Blues in New Orleans.

* In another post Anya shares that “I have so many originals written that I can’t wait to share.”

* Anya has more than 1,000 followers and more than 100,000 likes on her TikTok. Oh, and check out her great singer-songwriter style on the cover of “Dial Drunk” below.

* Anya says she’s a straight A student in her senior year of high school. She’s been taking classes online since early in her high school career to she can spend more time focusing on her music.

* “It was definitely a difficult choice because I’m not getting that authentic high school experience,” she told The Voice. “But it’s so worth it because every ounce of free time I have, I just get to do what I love.
