Meet Ashley De La Rosa of The Voice (Team Christina)

At 17, Ashley De La Rosa is one of the youngest contestants on The Voice.

And we barely got to meet her on the show because she was part of a four-singer montage back on the Feb. 21 edition.

So let’s learn a bit more about Ashley.

She attends Windermere Prepatory School in the Orlando, Fla., area and is a straight-A student who has applied to Boston University, according to her bio with The Voice.

On her Facebook page, we learn that she did some modeling and TV commercial work in New York as early as age 6, then moved to Florida and got involved in musical theater, appearing in productions like “Cinderella” and “Once on This Island.”

And on her blog with The Voice, we learn she has a tattoo, but isn’t likely to get another.

“One behind my ear,” she writes. “It says ‘sisters’ in Arabic and all my sisters have one … I didn’t ask my parents before I did it. I will never do another rebellious thing in my life again! I have learned my lesson.”

Musically, Ashley says she learns toward pop-rock music, but likes to performs that music with a soul-R&B edge.

And, folks, unlike many of the contestants on The Voice, this is not a teenager lacking a Plan B.

That would be attending college, studying international relations and working for The United Nations. Ashley told The Voice she’d also like to do charity work when she gets older.

As for the battle rounds on The Voice, she thinks her competitive spirit will help.

“I come from playing a lot of sports, so I’m used to that pressure, and I’ve got a competitive edge,” she says. “So I just hope I go out there and kill it.”

Ashley has started a website. And you can follow her on Twitter at @UKnowAshleyDLR.
