Bartly of American Idol Season 24
Idol returns to ABC on Monday, Jan. 26 with the judging trio of Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood and Lionel Richie.
Here’s more about Bartly:
* He’s Densmore Bartly, a San Marcos, Texas-based musician with music out under his shortened stage name of Bartly.
* On Instagram, he writes “too soul for pop and too indie for Americana, so i guess here I am.”
* He elaborates on his unique sound on his website, saying it incorporates elements of “pop, indie, alternative, soul, blues, and more.”
* Bartly has been releasing music since at least 2020, including a six-song EP called “Hard to Say” and about a half dozen singles since.
* Those include “Nothing More” and “Worth the Prize” in 2025. On Instagram, Bartly said he wrote the latter song for his ex “to ask … if cheating was worth it.”

* Bartly has Type 1 Diabetes and has been introducing Sage, his diabetic alert dog, to fans. “She’ll be joining me full-time as my medical alert partner and tour companion, helping keep me safe through the ups, downs, and long travel days of Type 1 diabetes,” he wrote on social media.
* Bartly’s held a Songs for Sage fund-raiser in Austin in mid-December. And his family launched a Go Fund Me to help cover the cost of Sage. As part of that campaign, his mom shares the story of a night he slipped into a diabetic coma while she was in D.C. and he was in Texas. As of mid-January, the Go Fund Me had already raised $14,500 of a $25,000 goal.
* Bartly announced his Idol audition in mid-November, urging fans to begin tuning in Jan. 26 to see if he gets a golden ticket.
