Ben Taub, Season 3, The Voice

Meet Ben Taub of Team Cee Lo Green on The Voice

2

Ben Taub had one main reason for trying out for Season 3 of The Voice.

And it had everything to do with his favorite singer.

“I thought the idea of having Cee Lo Green have no choice but to listen to me for a minute and a half was such a strange and appealing experience,” Ben told Christina Milian in a post-audition interview.

So when Cee Lo and Blake Shelton turned around during his performance of “Feeling Good,” Ben naturally chose to become a member of Team Cee Lo.

We saw Ben just briefly on the fifth blind audition episode, but The Voice and his Facebook page help fill in the background.

He’s a philosophy major at Princeton University, where he has performed with the Princeton Katzenjammers, a co-ed a cappella group.

He plays the oboe, and also speaks French and Italian.

And if the music bit doesn’t work out, he just might want to become a foreign correspondent thanks to his interest in journalism and what The Voice calls “a secret trip” to Cairo last summer.

While there, the 21-year-old says he saw the revolution in Egypt unfold, firsthand.
