Her audition: Ciera Dumas, 21, of Kernersville, N.C., auditioned with “Tell Me You Love Me” by Demi Lovato. A very strong opening prompted quick chair turns from John Legend and Adam Levine. Adam called her “spectacular” and praised the power in her voice. Ciera decided to join Team Adam Levine.

More about Ciera:

* She told The Voice that singing “has always been naturally embedded in my heart.” In high school, she said her life revolved around concert choir.

* In her senior yearbook at Robert B. Glenn High School, she was named “most likely to win The Voice.”

* At 19, she moved to Nashville, but admits she went there “totally blind” in terms of how to make waves in the music industry there. She eventually moved back home to regroup.

* Since then, she got involved at Elevation School of Worship, where she started taking songwriting classes and performing at church showcases. Her blind audition marked one of her first performances as a solo artist.

* Ciera told Voice Views she went to an open call for The Voice while living in Nashville. She was supposed to participate in the Season 15 blind auditions, but had to postpone because of vocal surgery.

* She hasn’t released original music yet, but is working on an EP she hopes to release sometime in the next year. “The vibe is R&b with heavy pop influences,” she said.

* Ciera said she picked her blind audition song because she’s always been a fan of Demi Lovato. “I connect to the heartbreak of that song,” she added. “I also loved the range in the song so I could show different parts of my voice.”

* As for opting to join Team Adam? “Adam actually said a lot of things that they didn’t have time to air. He called me out on some parts that needed work and he really fought for me,” Ciera said.

* Oh, and Ciera told the show she’s “fearless” when it comes to hair color, and The Voice showed the photos to prove it. At blind audition time, it has a pinkish highlight. “I want people to remember me,” Ciera told the show.
