Danny Joseph from The Voice Season 26

His audition: Danny Joseph, 37, Dallas, Texas, “I Put a Spell on You” by Annie Lennox: Unique opening to the song prompted chair turns from Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire and Michael Buble. But Michael is blocked by Reba. Meanwhile, Danny turns in a solid rock performance. Late in the performance, Gwen Stefani turned as well, making Danny the third four-chair turn of Season 26. Reba complimented him on an amazing range and a powerful voice. Snoop turned the lights out on all the other coaches in hopes of luring Danny to his team. Danny decided to join Team Reba.

Here’s more about Danny joseph:

* He’s a full-time musician who was born in London, began writing music at 13 and moved to Dallas, Texas, in 2015.

* He describes his music as Texas soul, says he has a passion for soul, blues and country music and is known for his soulful, raspy vocals.

* He also produces music, including all three songs he has on streaming sites.

* Those include a cover of Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come” and a pair of singles Danny wrote — “It Was Just Like Yesterday” and “Forever and Ever Amen.” Check out the latter below.

* Danny’s a busy live performer, doing both solo acoustic and band shows. He’s played more than 250 gigs in the Dallas / Fort Worth area, according to his webpage bio. He has nine shows scheduled in Dallas for October, when pre-taped shows from The Voice Season 26 will be airing.

* In 2016, he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and suffered a “really bad flare up” in August 2023 that led to surgery and the removal of his colon.

* In a Feb. 6 post featuring video of him recuperating in the hospital, he calls the past six months “by far the most difficult and challenging of my life.”

* “Unfortunately there isn’t a ‘cure’ for Crohn’s disease, but we are hopeful and believe that the surgery will help alleviate a lot of the issues I had,” he writes.

* He says his initial diagnosis is what prompted him to start making music and playing live shows again. “Music and performing and creating has been the best medicine for my body, mind and spirit.”
