Meet Hollywood bound Aaron Marcellus

6

I thought this guy looked awfully familiar, though he wasn’t on the screen for all that long in Thursday’s Pittsburgh audition episode.

Last year, Aaron Marcellus competed on Idol as Aaron Sanders.

What’s more, he made it all the way to the Green Mile episode before being cut. He also made it to Hollywood in Season 7.

He’s now 27 and almost out of chances to make his mark on Idol.  Idol’s blue bar identified him as a voice teacher, and he impressed the judges with a performance of “A Change is Gonna Come.”

Aaron and his brother are known simply as AMWB on Reverbnation, where their music is described as R&B/soul/pop/alternative.  He has also performed under the longer version of that acronym — Aaron Marcellus and the Will Band.  You can find seven songs from the Will Band on MySpace.

In last year’s golden ticket interview, Aaron described himself as  “pretty much a geek who likes to sing.”

So here’s Aaron singing, away from the Idol stage.

“Someday We’ll All Be Free”

“Just the Way You Are”

“Rolling in the Deep”
