Ashley Robles, Season 11

Meet Hollywood bound Ashley Robles

1

Pretty smiles were not in short supply at Idol’s Sunday night audition episode from San Diego.

Perhaps the best voice to accompany a pretty smile came from Ashley Robles, 26, of San Diego, identified as an insurance account executive on Idol’s blue bar.

But Ashley has a 5-year-old daughter, Terra, she has struggled to support as a single parent and admits she’s held as many as five jobs at a time at one point. Some of those jobs have been in the music business.

On her website, she describes herself as a producer, songwriter, remixer and DJ. On Facebook, she classifies her music as pop / R&B / club and electro pop.

She’s a featured vocalist on a couple of hip-hop tracks on iTunes by Deep Foundation. You can hear a couple of her songs on her MySpace page.

On Idol, Ashley wowed the judges — and yours truly — with a rendition of “I Will Always Love You.”  Sure, the song is overdone on Idol.  But it helped showcase Ashley’s big voice.

And prompted Steven Tyler to predict that she will “be big” as she heads to Hollywood.

Speaking of that website, Ashley and her daughter posted an adorable video this morning thanking fans for their support. Check it out here.

Meanwhile, here are some pre-Idol performances from Ashley.

“Empire State of Mind”

“Run to You”
